The Project SEARCH Transition-to-Work Program is a unique, business-led, one-year employment preparation program that takes place entirely at the workplace. Total workplace immersion facilitates a seamless combination of classroom instruction, career exploration, and hands-on training through worksite rotations. The program culminates in individualized job development.
Project SEARCH York
Project SEARCH York has launched it’s Pilot project in September 2022 welcoming students ages 18-21 with intellectual or developmental disabilities or autism in their final year of high school.
Based on the successful Project SEARCH US model in Cincinnati Ohio, this international program has helped many young people gain valuable work experience, build employment skills and obtain employment opportunities upon graduation at the end of the program year.
The unique collaboration between the school board, host business and community agency ensures students are fully supported throughout the program and beyond.
